Gifted and Talented Development
Gifted education development with SCDEP Equity Consulting is specific to advanced and gifted education coursework. This means that data collected will pinpoint the specific underlyers of the lack of recruiting in a school’s advanced coursework, reasons for low retention rates, and sheds light on students of color who are struggling in advanced coursework.
We provide a unique solution to gaps that are found within the school by providing school-based support programming which is tailored to data collected during the initial consultation and review of the GT development process.
Innovative GT Screening Tools
At SCDEP Equity Consulting, we are closing the equity gap advanced coursework through screening strategies for teachers and school staff to utilize. More teachers are able to identify students of color for gifted education with our Multicultural Nomination Tool. In the short span its existence, we have encouraged Gifted and Talented testing for 93 students of color who were selected by their teachers to have “honors potential.”
